LOOKING FOR THE RAINBOW by πŸ–‹ RUSKIN BOND

πŸ–‹This book is written by one of my favourite authors of all time-Ruskin Bond. I thought he was just as old as my Dad or even younger. But I was so surprised to know that he was older than my grandfather. Now he lives in Mussoorie with his extended family. This book is an autobiography.

πŸ“•The cover of the book shows a picture of our author and his father .The book is beautifully illustrated with black and white paintings which makes us easy to imagine his past.

πŸ“–As the subtitle of the book is ' My years with Daddy' let's guess what the book is  about .The story takes us to his childhood in boarding school in Simla .

πŸ”–The way he tells the reader about his childhood is absolutely mesmerizing. For instance, he was in school choir not because he sang well but because he looked so cute in a cassock and surplice (its  full length choir costume).

πŸ”–Another funny incident ...He was in the boy's scout even though he couldnt untie a knot, identify constellations and realise w that he could not be an astronomer but can be an astrologer. But anyway he got a cookery badge for knowing how to boil an egg.

πŸ”–I was so sad to know that Ruskin Bond's father dies at the end. His headmaster was too busy playing his Violin and his wife didn't think it was her duty. So one of his teacher had to break the bad news to him. Still this book is filled with happiness, adventures, and lots of childhood memories.

πŸ“šThe story continues on his next book ' Till the clouds roll by' as he goes to his mother and stepfather on his holidays.
